Port Elizabeth will liven up shortly with the arrival of all of the teams participating in the IRB Sevens World Rugby Series which takes place in Port Elizabeth on the 7th & 8th December 2013.

Events of this nature contribute a lot to the local economy as many people from all over South Africa and from overseas attend events of this nature.

The Rugby 7’s takes place at the iconic Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, otherwise known as the “Sunflower”, the shape of the stadium purports to be that of the Sunflower. The stadium is known for its excellent views of the pitch from wherever you sit, you are also close the playing action.

Listed below are the sixteen countries taking part. As you can see South Africa currently lying third in the rankings and hoping that on home soil they can pull it off.

If you have not attended a Sevens tournament before then you are in for a surprise in that it is very fast paced with lots of entertainment in between and being in Port Elizabeth we have our very own brass band that does it own thing at the Tournament. Listed to provide entertainment during the event are Jeremy Loops and Friends , a Cape Town musician skilled in guitar, harmonica, beatbox, Ukelele, banjo and loop pedal, to name but a few of his instruments and Crazy White Boy , who need no introduction. There will also be the Cheer Leaders, otherwise known as “The Babes” and they will be wowing you all with their incredible talent. Remember to feel free to attend in fancy dress and you and your friends will add to the spectacle in your fancy dress.
